Photo Tagging System with Nested Tags

Summary Add a tagging system that allows users to assign multiple tags to photos and videos, enabling a single item to be associated with multiple categories. Additionally, support nested/hierarchical tags for advanced organization. User Report A user finds the current single-album-per-photo structure limiting and would like the ability to tag media so that items can appear under multiple organizational categories without duplication. Current Behavior Photos and videos can only belong to one album at a time, requiring users to choose a single category for each item. Requested Behavior Core Tagging Allow users to create custom tags Enable assigning multiple tags to any photo or video Provide a way to browse/filter media by tag A single photo could then logically belong to multiple groupings (e.g., "Family," "Vacation," "2024") without needing to duplicate the file Tag Nesting (Advanced) Support hierarchical tag structures (e.g., "Travel > Europe > France") Keep this feature unobtrusive for users who prefer simple organization Allow power users to create detailed taxonomy systems for their media Use Cases Organizing photos that fit multiple categories (e.g., a photo that is both "Work" and "Receipts") Creating detailed organizational hierarchies for large collections Filtering media by multiple criteria simultaneously

Support Album/Collection-Based Photo Import

The app currently only allows importing photos through the library view, which sorts photos chronologically by their original file date. This creates a significant usability issue when importing photos from other apps (like Keepsafe exports) that retain their original metadata dates, as these photos become scattered throughout the library and are nearly impossible to locate and select. Users need the ability to import photos from iOS's album view (Collections in iOS 16+) instead, which would enable them to efficiently select photos from "Recently Saved," "Starred," or custom albums where newly exported photos are grouped together, regardless of their original file dates. Key points: Enable import from album/collection view in addition to library view Allow users to select photos from system albums like "Recently Saved" or "Starred" Support importing from custom user-created albums Solve the issue of chronologically-sorted photos being difficult to locate when they have old metadata dates

Ability to reset app without password

Provide users with a secure method to reset the Encamera app to its factory state (i.e., wipe all data including encrypted content and settings), without requiring a password, in case of lockout. Use Case A user forgets their password. They want to regain access to the app but are willing to forfeit all stored content. Reinstalling the app does not remove data due to persistent storage mechanisms (e.g., iCloud Keychain, on-device secure storage). 3.1 Secure Erasure Trigger Mechanism: Offer an option on the app lock screen, such as: Reset App (Erase All Data) Require a secondary confirmation prompt: "This will erase all your data and cannot be undone. Proceed? Data Deletion Scope Erase all: App-specific files stored in Application Support and Documents Secure storage items (e.g., Keychain, NSUserDefaults, CoreData) iCloud drive data State Restoration After erasure: App launches as a fresh install User is prompted to set a new password No residual data or authentication tokens persist iOS Settings Integration Add support for app data deletion via iOS Settings → App Settings (where Apple provides “Delete App Data”)

Support for 30 FPS Video Recording in Low Light Conditions

Add the ability to toggle between 30 FPS and 60 FPS video recording, including an optional “Auto FPS” mode that automatically switches to 30 FPS in low light for improved brightness. Currently, the app records video at 60 FPS by default, which results in dimmer footage in low light conditions. The native Camera app offers a manual 30/60 FPS toggle and an “Auto FPS” setting that intelligently adjusts based on lighting. This flexibility significantly improves video quality in dark environments. • Include a 30/60 FPS toggle directly in the recording interface. • Optionally, add an “Auto FPS” mode similar to the iOS Camera app that detects low light and switches to 30 FPS automatically.
